MailVault PDF Archive Privacy Policy
MailVault PDF Archive is a local-first Chrome extension that helps users create PDF backup archives from their own Gmail messages. This policy explains what information the extension accesses, how that information is used, and when information is shared.
Information the extension accesses
MailVault PDF Archive may access the following information when you use the extension:
- Your Google account email address, so the extension can show which Gmail account is connected.
- Gmail message metadata and content selected by your Gmail search query, including sender, recipients, subject, date, message identifiers, body text, inline images, and attachment-related metadata when available.
- Local extension settings, saved archive jobs, Gmail search queries, email limits, remote image preferences, run history, billing entitlement cache, and a randomly generated local installation ID.
- Billing information handled by Lemon Squeezy or another payment provider, including subscription status, customer identifiers, billing email, and checkout or portal links.
How information is used
MailVault PDF Archive uses information only to provide and improve the email PDF archive feature and related billing features. Gmail message data is used to generate local PDF files requested by the user. Saved jobs and run history are used to make repeat archive workflows easier to reuse.
Local processing and storage
Email contents are processed in the Chrome extension. Generated PDF files are downloaded to your device. MailVault servers are not designed to store Gmail message contents. Chrome extension storage may keep local settings, saved jobs, run history, entitlement cache, and the local installation ID.
Remote images
Remote image loading is optional and off by default. If you enable remote images, images referenced by an email may be requested from the original sender or image host so they can appear in the generated PDF. Those third-party image hosts may receive network information associated with loading the image.
Information shared with service providers
MailVault PDF Archive uses service providers only as needed to operate the product:
- Google APIs are used to authenticate your Google account and read Gmail messages after you grant permission.
- Lemon Squeezy or another payment provider may process checkout, subscription, billing, and customer portal information.
- A MailVault billing API may receive installation ID, billing email, checkout identifiers, subscription status, and entitlement data. It is not intended to receive Gmail message contents.
Google API Limited Use
MailVault PDF Archive's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google API data is used only to provide the user's requested email PDF archive feature and is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, or unrelated purposes.
Data sale and advertising
MailVault PDF Archive does not sell user data. MailVault PDF Archive does not use Gmail message data, Google API data, or extension user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, or interest-based advertising.
Human access to user data
MailVault personnel are not intended to access Gmail message contents. If support requires reviewing user-provided examples, the user must choose what to share. Users should avoid sending sensitive email contents unless necessary for support.
Retention and deletion
Generated PDFs are saved on your device and remain under your control. Local extension settings, saved jobs, run history, and entitlement cache can be removed by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension. Billing records may be retained by payment providers and MailVault as needed for subscriptions, accounting, tax, security, and legal obligations.
Security
MailVault PDF Archive uses Google OAuth and HTTPS connections for remote API calls. The extension requests only the permissions needed for Gmail PDF archiving, local storage, downloads, scheduled jobs, and billing status.
Children
MailVault PDF Archive is not intended for children under 13 and should not be used by children to process personal information.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the product changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
